The IPL 2026 saw one of the craziest performances by all the teams. Punjab Kings stayed at the top of the table after they had played 6 games. Now with the league stage ending the team got knocked out of the top four, causing one of the biggest fumbles in history.

The league stages of the Indian Premier League 2026 are finally over. Now we are left with just four teams competing for the title and Punjab Kings is not one of them. Although the team stayed at the top of the table for a long time they were still not able to make it to the final four.

Punjab Kings looked like the strong contenders to win the tournament. After playing 6 games they were at the top of the table being unbeaten in all of them. But this was followed by a losing streak which no one expected, not even the PBKS fans. The team's middle phase of the tournament went by enduring consecutive losses.

Punjab Kings had to defeat Lucknow to ensure that they had a chance to reach the top 4. While they defeated Lucknow their qualification was still dependent on Mumbai Indians as they would have to defeat Rajasthan. Unfortunately Mumbai was not able to do well as Rajasthan won the game and made it to the top 4 instead of Punjab.

Too Easy

Punjab Kings had a strong start to the tournament. But the team took it way too easy in the middle phase, which cost them a place in the top four.

Unexpected Trade

A Twitter user said that Punjab Kings were doing black magic to win games. And after a few wins, the team went to trade the same to Gujarat Titans.

Two Fumbles

Punjab Kings were not the only team which fumbled this season. Rajasthan Royals also endured losses but still managed to make it to the top 4.
