Reports | Bayern Munich in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a move for Kai Havertz
Bundesliga current seven-time champions Bayern Munich are in talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz. The 20-year-old German international was one of the best players of last years' Bundesliga and is expected to join the Bavarian before the September 2 transfer deadline.
After nine years at Bay Arena, German wonderkid Kai Havertz could leave Bayer Leverkusen this transfer window, as the club are in talks with Bayern Munich. A deal for the 20-year-old midfielder is expected to be completed before the September 2 transfer deadline, according to Sueddeutsche.
Havertz is seen as one of the best young players in the world and someone who will lead Germany's new generation. He has been linked with a move to Barcelona last season after a sensational season in the Bundesliga. With 20 goals in 42 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen last season, Havertz was the player to watch.
The ability to combine talent and skill at such a young age captured the attention of Europe's major clubs, having emerged reports of a possible move to Barcelona and even Arsenal. Bayern Munich is looking to secure a precious talent until the end of the transfer market, but a deal would not be easy to reach, as Havertz is valued at €90 million, according to Transfermarkt.
Now with Philippe Coutinho’s arrival and if Bayern Munich does manage to sign the German wonderkid this summer, then the duo could be crucial to any hopes that Bayern Munich have of retaining the title and challenging for the Champions League trophy.
