Reports | PSG and Monaco keen on a move for Tiemoue Bakayoko
Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco are interested in signing Chelsea's midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko. The 25-year-old has been cut from Frank Lampard's squad for Chelsea's first three games of the new season, as the Blues manager has opted for a midfield trio composed by Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic.
Chelsea's French midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has emerged as a target for both Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco, according to the Express. The 25-year-old midfielder has missed the Blues’ first three games of the season, with Frank Lampard opting for a midfield trio of N'Golo Kanté, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.
In both Premier League games against Manchester United and Leicester, as well as the UEFA Super Cup final against Liverpool, Chelsea's new boss maintained the same structure in the middle, with Ross Barkley and Mason Mount being the main alternatives. This has changed a lot for Bakayoko, who played regular first-team football over the course of last season on-loan at AC Milan.
He eventually became a first-team star for the Rossoneri, but a fall-out with former manager Gennaro Gattuso saw his playing time drop and any hopes of a permanent move fall through the cracks. However, Bakayoko's performances impressed a few fans and critics, with the Frenchman hoping that it would be more than enough to help him re-ignite a career at Stamford Bridge, but that has now changed.
The player hopes to revive his career back in his homeland, and Ligue 1 duo Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco are in the run. Although, Monaco are considered to be the front-runners in the race, which is something PSG might change with a better offer.
