Reports | Manchester United plotting move for James Maddison
Manchester United are preparing another raid on Leicester City but this time, they are after James Maddison. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been one of the Foxes’ best players since he arrived last summer, and he may even be named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad this week.
Maddison finished last season on an impressive note, creating more chances than any other player in the Premier League. It was a stunning achievement by the former Norwich City man in his debut Premier League season and it rightfully saw both Manchester United and Tottenham take a keen interest in a move this summer.
While nothing ever materialized for the 22-year-old, it seems that Manchester United have reignited their interest in the English midfielder, less than a month after signing Harry Maguire. The Mirror and the Metro have reported that Maddison fits Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s blueprint for a player and that the Norwegian believes that the Leicester midfielder is the perfect addition to his side.
However, the report also added that Manchester United know that they’ll have to spend somewhere close to Harry Maguire’s transfer fee to get the 22-year-old. The Red Devils managed to snag Maguire away from Leicester City after a long and arduous transfer saga for a fee of around £80 million, which could rise even further.
