Reports | Ligue 1 side Bordeaux considering a move for Mohamed Elneny
Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny could leave the club before the window closes. With the Europea transfer window closing next week, British clubs are still able to sell their players elsewhere and it seems Elneny might be forced to exit the club, to play football regularly.
Get French Football has reported that Ligue 1 side Bordeaux are interested in signing Mohamed Elneny on a loan deal. The French club is eager to complete the deal before the transfer deadline, which closes on 2nd September. Bordeaux have already conducted business with Arsenal this summer, which saw Arsenal’s captain Laurent Koscielny move back to France.
The arrival of Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid and the introduction of academy product Joe Willock has pushed Elneny further down the pecking order. Last year, Elneny signed a new long term contract tying him to the Emirates, and said to Arsenal's official website: "Officially we will be together for a longer time, in order to reach what we started, and to put Arsenal in it's deserved spot in Europe and the whole world."
However, the Egyptian has not been able to impress Unai Emery with his performances so far, with appearances coming few and far last season. The 27-year-old made 17 appearances in all competitions last season, but most of those were in the Europa League group stages and in the early rounds of the domestic cups. This season, the midfielder has not played at all and has become surplus to Emery’s plans.
