Jose Mourinho has revealed that he slept Tottenham's training ground in order to prepare for the Saturday’s game against Burnley and to help the team bounce back. The North Londoners lost their first game under Mourinho to Manchester United and face a tough run of fixtures going forward.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United boss went on to admit that he slept at the training ground in the build-up to Burnley’s game on Saturday. The Portuguese stayed at Hotspur Way in Enfield after his side were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United on his return to his former club. The loss at Old Trafford was Mourinho’s first loss as the Spurs manager despite the North Londoners favourites to walk away with a win after an unbeaten start to Mourinho's reign. That saw the “Special one” admit that he felt that the dressing room was a "sad" place following the loss.

“After a defeat you cannot be sad. You have to be more than that. You have to be raging, angry, not sad. I didn't go home, so the next morning at eight o'clock I was here doing what? Burnley. Analysing Burnley, trying to organise the training session, trying to organise the meeting, choosing the clips to show them the most clear possible way Burnley works. That's the way you have to do it in football. Don't accept in a passive way,” said the former Chelsea boss to the BBC.

Tottenham are eighth in the Premier League with five wins, five losses and five draws this season. Spurs host 12th-placed Burnley at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend. Dele Alli has redefined himself under Mourinho after the manager has given him a more advanced role, closer to the striker. Alli has scored 4 goals in 4 games under Mourinho and will look to increas his tally against Sean Dyche’s side.

“It's obvious we have problems but we have players with quality, a great human dressing room. I like the guys very much but we need to change that feeling of feeling sorry about our mistakes and feeling sad with our bad results,” said the former Real Madrid manager.
