Alexis Sanchez has admitted that Inter Milan has helped him find his love for football and his desire to win something again. The Chilean star has struggled immensely since a move to Manchester United scoring just 5 goals in 45 appearances for the Red Devils before being shipped out to Inter Milan.

The Chilean was once considered to be one of the finest players in the Premier League after a sensational spell at Arsenal but things changed once he moved to Old Trafford. Part of a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move the other way and the move for Sanchez was supposed to be the move for Manchester United. But his spell at Old Trafford was disappointing and saw him make just 14 goal contributions over the space of 19 months.

More than that, Sanchez’s wages weighed down any talks about his performances, which changed the way the Chilean saw football. However, with a loan move to Inter Milan this summer, the 31-year-old has admitted that he has now started to love football again.

"I already knew the coach and some of the players, and I believe that the club are preparing something beautiful for the future. If I’m not mistaken, Inter haven’t won anything for seven or eight years. It was a bit like finding my love for football again, together with my desire to win something with this club," he said reports Eurosport.

The Nerazzurri face Barcelona next in the Champions League a club that Sanchez knows all too well having made over 140 appearances for the Catalan giants. It will be a tough fixture for Antonio Conte and company made even harder after their opening day draw against Slavia Prague. However, despite that Sanchez went on to add that if Inter get one or two chances they cannot waste them.

"If we have one or two chances, we can’t waste them. I played there with United and we wasted three or four clear chances. If you want to beat Barcelona, you can’t throw any clear chances away. Any player would like to win the Champions League. You play in it to win it, not just to compete. I play it to win it. It’s beautiful for any player, and Inter must be excited about playing in the Champions League again," concluded the forward.
