Everything is going according to plan for Manchester City, admits Nicolas Otamendi
Nicolas Otamendi believes that everything is according to plan for Manchester City, despite them being five points behind Liverpool. The Cityzens have won every game in the Premier League barring a shock loss to Norwich City and a draw against Tottenham, while Liverpool have won every game bar none.
Manchester City dominated England last season finishing their 2018/19 season with the first men’s domestic treble. While they were knocked out of the Champions League quarter-finals by Tottenham over two legs, the Cityzens dominated both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup competitions, beating Watford and Chelsea respectively. However, the league Champions walk into their clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers with five points separating them and Liverpool.
The Reds have started their season brilliantly and are one of only two sides in Europe’s big five leagues to have won all their league matches so far. Yet despite that Manchester City star Nicolas Otamendi believes that everything is going according to plan. In an interview, the Argentine went on to say that while City face every game like it’s a final given Liverpool’s form, they’re still doing well and everything is going according to plan.
“We are doing well. We have to face each game as it is a final for us. We always fight for three points and try to go as far as we can in all competitions. We are giving 100% to get three points in each game and I hope we'll have a positive season overall throughout the season – and I’m sure we will,” said the Argentine to ManCity.com.
“I think each season is different, but this season is been good for us. I think we always have things to improve on. If we have a good match, for instance, all the mistakes we may have we tend not really overthink, but we always work on training to try to fix it, improve our mistakes,” concluded Otamendi.
