Leicester dominated us in every department, admits Ralph Hasenhuttl

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has faced humiliation after a shambolic defeat against now second-placed Leicester City. Hasenhuttl has accepted full responsibility for the ugly performance and described it as “horrible” that the Saints put up against high flying Foxes in their 9-0 home loss.
Leicester City travelled to Southampton on late Friday to take on Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men and with the Saints struggling in the relegation zone, little was expected from the club. But the Foxes put on a ruthless performance and destroyed the Saints scoring 9 goals in 90 minutes. Brendan Rodgers and company was a level better than Southampton in every department as super-striker Jamie Vardy and former Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez both scored hat-tricks.
James Maddison, Ben Chilwell and Youri Tielemans also scored in the 9-0 thrashing and fans started leaving the St Mary's Stadium well before half-time. That has seen Saints' boss Ralph Hasenhuttl apologize to the home crowd for the abject performance the side put up. In his post-match conference, the Austrian went on to admit to all the blunders and issues even took full responsibility for the Saint's performance last night.
“The performance was a disaster today and I have to apologise and take 100% responsibility. I've never seen a team act like this, there was no fight for anything. It was horrible to watch and everyone who stayed to watch is really a fan of this football club. Leicester were in every part of the game better than us. I'm a proud man but the way we play today is not the way I want to see my team play. We must get our heads up and that is my job in the next few days,” said Hasenhuttl to the BBC.
The embarrassing loss has lead Southampton into 18th position leaving them with 8 points in 10 games and the Saints have won only twice in the league in 10 games this season, with six defeats and two draws. The former RB Leipzig boss also said that the club and players must only think of getting back to normal ways as soon as possible. Southampton now remains winless in last five games with their last win coming on 14th September against newly-promoted Sheffield United.
“I said we must play to the last minute but I can understand why the fans that left. We all must to do everything to pull this back. There is nothing I want to speak of here in front of the camera - we keep that for in the dressing room,” concluded Hasenhuttl.
