Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Marcus Rashford reminds him of Cristiano Ronaldo after the striker scored a breathtaking freekick to win the game for the Red Devils. Solskjaer’s men walked out victorious from Stamford Bridge eliminating Chelsea from the Carabao Cup.

Marcus Rashford produced a brilliant display against Chelsea in the 4th round of Carabao Cup, scoring a brace for Manchester United and more importantly scoring a free-kick that sealed the victory for the Red Devils. The Manchester club were given a penalty in the 25th minute and was converted by striker before Chelsea equalised through Michy Batshuayi in the 61st minute sending the Stamford Bridge crowd back on its feet. However, the game took another turn as Marcus Rashford scored a sensational free-kick winner which impressed manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer highly. The Norwegian was full of praises for Rashford’s free-kick during the post-match conference, as reported by the BBC.

“It was very Cristiano-like. The boy has nerves of steel, He takes a penalty no problem, and then steps up and hits the ball like he did and wins us the game. Fantastic. He works too much on it. I've always tried to get him scoring simple tap-ins and being inside the box. He always scores great goals,” said Solskjaer to the BBC.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named a strong side, saying he wanted to "keep the momentum going" - with 19-year-old Brandon Williams the only unfamiliar youngster to start. The master’s move worked as Manchester United won their third game in a row with two previous wins coming against Norwich City and Partizan Belgrade. The hattrick of away wins will be a confidence booster for the squad and the team can build on from here.

Chelsea’s loss means that they are now out of the Carabao Cup but the manager Frank Lampard thought that they were the better and deserved team. Elsewhere in the Carabao Cup, Liverpool managed to win against Arsenal on penalties after a 5-5 entertaining draw. Manchester United will now face Colchester United in the quarter finals of the EFL Cup, Colchester eliminated Tottenham Hotspur in the 3rd round.
