La Liga Champions Barcelona have reportedly shown interest in signing Valencia midfielder Ferran Torres in the upcoming January transfer window. This has now paved the way to a transfer war between Barcelona, Liverpool, and Borussia Dortmund as all three clubs chase for the Spaniard’s signature.

Ferran Torres has seen his stock rise in the last couple of years since making his debut in 2017 for Valencia. Since the start of the season, he has been a regular in Valencia’s line up and clubs across Europe have been alerted of Torres’ incredible talent. Barcelona is reportedly keen on signing the youngster in the Winter transfer window, but there’s interest from Borussia Dortmund and Premier League leaders Liverpool, as reported by Metro.

The 19-year-old rose through Valencia’s ranks making his first-team debut in 2017 in Copa Del Rey. Since then, he has made a total of 61 appearances for the club scoring on three occasions. Metro’s report further added that Torres came close to leaving Los Ches in October 2017 with Barcelona and Real Madrid being the potential suitors of his talent. However, the Spaniard signed a new deal with a release clause of €25 million.

Barcelona are keen to add young players to their squad and are willing to pay the  €25 million release clause but face competition from Dortmund and Liverpool. The three wat transfer battle could see Torres leave for a much higher price with Valencia selling the player to the highest bidder. Jurgen Klopp is in search of attacking reinforcements to provide support for the charismatic trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. His ability to play as a winger as well as an attacking midfielder will come in handy for any of the teams he has been linked to.

The U-21 Spain star has a contract with the Oranges until 2021 but the club is willing to cash in on the youth sensation. Torres played entire 90 minutes in Valencia’s clash with Sevilla yesterday which ended in both the teams sharing the spoils.
