The London-based team is interested in acquiring Mario Mandzukic when the market reopens in January. The player is not expected to have a big role in Maurizio Sarri's Juventus squad and with Javier Hernández making his way to Sevilla, it opens up another spot to fill at the striker position.

Once targeted by Manchester United, Mario Mandzukic, could sign for West Ham in the January transfer window reports the Daily Mail. The Hammers have made several moves regarding their front line, by signing Sébastian Haller and Albian Ajeti this summer, while allowing the likes of Marko Arnautovic, Chicharito and Andy Carroll to leave.

But they are far from finished with their additions this season, with the Daily Mail reporting that they're considering a move for Mandzukic. The Croatian was left out of Sarri's choices for the Champions League group-stages, with the Italian prioritizing Gonzalo Higuain who spent half of last season loaned to Chelsea. However, the 33-year-old still has a lot of football left in him, playing an important role in Juventus' Serie A title run in the 2018/2019 season.

It's safe to say that luck is not on West Ham's side as well despite a good summer of business. They've been able to offload some of their highest-paid players in order to make room for the new arrivals, but injuries have hit them hard. Their last victim is Michail Antonio, with him now ruled out for four months, leaving Haller and Ajeti as their only options up-front.

If the deal was to be made in a few months, it would likely be a loan move instead of a permanent transfer.
