Harry Maguire and Manchester United are the perfect match, claims Jonny Evans
Harry Maguire signed for a world record deal this summer for Manchester United at €87 million. The Englishman became one of the most sought after defenders, with him proving himself at Leicester City and England as well, leading the latter to a fourth-place finish at the 2018 FIFA World Cup
Harry Maguire faces, for the first time since his world-record move, former club Leicester City with everything pointing towards it being a very tough game as the Red Devils will be without Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw. The injury concerns will be a big blow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but he still has the squad depth to name a good starting eleven and a team that can battle Leicester City.
But Jonny Evans, the former Manchester United man and someone who played alongside Maguire at Leicester, had a lot to say about his former team-mate revealing that the 26-year-old will be an excellent addition for his former side. Evans further added that he believes Maguire's fee will become a bargain in the near future and that the Englishman will do very well for the Red Devils.
"I think it was a move that made sense. Obviously we are disappointed that we lost such a good player. I think with the money Man United really wanted him and he wanted to go. When it comes to that point, I think people will look back at the fee and say it was a bargain,” said Evans to the Daily Mail.
"I think he and Man United are a perfect match and he's exactly what they need at this moment in time. I think he has the personality for it and he has the qualities for it. He is a player who will go into the team and is a fan's favourite wherever he goes. I think Harry will be at United for eight, nine or 10 years," concluded the former Manchester United star.
Harry Maguire could be the face of Manchester United for years to come, but it remains to be seen if he can live up to the hype created around him.
