PKL 2019 | U Mumba have a plan to tackle Siddharth Desai, says Fazel Atrachali
Ahead of the opening game of PKl 2019, Fazel Atrachali has said that his team – U Mumba - has got a plan to stop Siddharth Desai who was earlier with the Mumbai team last season. Atrachali has also added that this year, the team has some good youngsters who have shown promise like Desai.
The first game of the seventh edition of the Pro Kabaddi League will be played between Telugu Titans and U Mumba at the Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad. This will be an interesting way to kick start the tournament as the top raider of the Titans – Siddharth Desai and their coach Gholamreza Mazandarani were both with the Mumbai team last year. The two sides will be well known to each other and that will make an exciting battle.
Ahead of the game, Fazel Atrachali has stated that the team is well aware of Desai’s abilities and has prepared a detailed plan for the defender.
“Siddharth and I know each other well and we do have a plan to tackle him which you will see in the game tomorrow,” Atrachali was quoted as saying by Sportstar.
U Mumba had finished second in the last edition of the PKL in Zone A but couldn’t do much in the playoffs. However, the team decided against retaining Desai in season 7 considering his injury which affected the team’s performance last year despite his raiding prowess. According to the Mumba skipper, the team has some good youngsters with the same promise like Desai in season 7.
“We fought hard last season and we will continue to do the same this year as well. This season we have youngsters with us who have shown the same dedication and promise as Sidharth,” the Iranian defender concluded.
