After registering a one-sided win against UP Yoddha, Gujarat coach Manpreet Singh has stated that for him, all the Gujarat players are star players in the league. He has also added that the team has not anything different in their third season in the League and the approach is all the same.

With two wins in two games, Gujarat Fortunegiants have got off to a great start in the seventh edition of the league. After beating Bengaluru Bulls in the first game, Gujarat got the better of UP Yoddha in a lopsided encounter by 44-19. With players like Parvesh Bhainswal and Sunil Kumar doing well in the defence and Rohit Gulia and Sachin Tanwar excelling in the raiding, Gujarat is expected to do well in the competition.

“I feel all my players are stars. They are all very talented and skilled players and they have a pretty good understanding of how to play the game as well. From the start of the match till the end, they play the game in a very smart and intelligent manner,” said Manpreet Singh during the press conference.

“As you’ve seen we have Sonu Jaglan with us and he’s a very good player. He’s not starting matches, but he’s getting a chance to play. Right now, it’s time for him to watch and learn from the rest of the players. I feel others should be starting ahead of him at the moment, but Sonu has good qualities and we’ll use those qualities for the team’s benefit. However, both Sonu and Sumit are very good new players.”

Gujarat came into the league in 2017 and in the last two seasons, they have made it to the finals but haven’t won the title. Manpreet has said that the team haven’t done anything extraordinary for the season but also added that there were some planning regarding the players’ temperament.

“This is Gujarat Fortunegiants’ third season and we’ve not done anything different or approached anything differently this year. We did do some planning and spoke about our temperament and how our mindset should be,” the Gujarat coach signed off.
