U Mumba coach Upendra Kumar has credited skipper Fazel Atrachali for the excellent win against UP Yoddha on Wednesday. Upendra mentioned about the change in strategy by their raiders was due to some lapses in the UP defence which was well-noticed by Atrachali who passed the message to their raiders.

After an exciting first half of the game in which both U Mumba and UP Yoddha fought neck-to-neck, Mumba came up with some improved performance in the second and registered a close win against the team from Uttar Pradesh. Although Abhishek Singh and Surinder Singh were the star performers in the raiding and the defence, coach Upendra Kumar hailed captain Fazel Atrachali’s presence of mind and game awareness as one of the reasons for the turnaround in their favour in the last 20 minutes of the match.

“Our captain (Fazel Atrachali) noticed something in their defence and told the raiders to try and attack that area. So Fazel gets credit for the turnaround,” Upendra said after the match.

Surinder collected six points in the defence while Abhishek led the raiding unit from the front and registered a Super 10 with a total of 11 points. Arjun Deshwal also had a great outing for the team from Mumbai and ended the game with seven points yesterday. Upendra talked about the importance of both the raiders for the team in the previous game.

“We have found ourselves in situations where we have conceded an early All-Out. And every time, we have managed to fight back and get the game close. Majority of the times in those situations, you need a raider to step up and make his mark. And today Abhishek Singh did that for us. He was superb throughout out the night. He went in for tough raids and returned with points. His raid at the end was extremely crucial. Even Arjun Deshwal went in and got some points. Great game for both our raiders,” the Mumba coach signed off.
