Pardeep Narwal has said that Patna Pirates had done enough to win the last evening’s game against Telugu Titans as per him. Their coach Ram Mehar Singh expressed his disappointment after the draw and said that their defence didn’t play that well as they could have against the Titans.

Patna Pirates and Telugu Titans both were not happy with the 42-42 tie that they played last evening and Patna skipper Pardeep Narwal’s dissatisfaction was clearly visible. Although he ended up with 17 points from 19 attempts, he failed to take his team past the winning line. While interacting with the reporters after the game, Pardeep said that the tie was like losing two points than winning three and also blamed the defence for not finishing off the game.

“This felt like two points lost more than three points gained. I felt we had done enough to win the game, but the defence couldn’t finish the job,” said Pardeep.

Apart from Siddharth Desai, Rajnish also got to a super 10 last evening and Patna coach Ram Mehar Singh was not happy with that performance of the defence. He lashed out at his defenders who gave away too many points to Desai towards the end and all those mattered a lot at the end of the match as the close game didn’t go in the favour of the three-time champions.

“Slightly disappointing result. The defence didn’t play as well as they could have. We gave away too many points to their second and third choice raiders. And even at the end, we leaked one too many against Siddharth Desai. Even Lee contributed some points, but the defence gave away too many points,” the Patna coach explained.

“Pardeep can change the game on his own. He has proved it time and again and he did it today as well. His Super Raid kept cutting the deficit and getting us close to an All Out, but the defence couldn’t hold firm and that cost us a win today.”

With 38 points from 17 games, the Pirates are on the ninth place on the table and they will have to look forward to winning all their remaining five games in the league to make it to the playoffs. Ram Mehar has stated that the team will give their all to qualify for the next round in the seventh edition of the tournament.

“We have to win all our remaining games if we want to qualify for the playoffs. And we will give it our all in the upcoming matches,” Ram Mehar concluded.
