IPL 2017 | Rohit Sharma fined for dissent for the second time
Rohit Sharma has been fined 50% of his match fees for showing dissent at umpire’s decision of not calling a wide ball in the final over of the Mumbai Indians innings during their 3 run defeat to Rising Pune Supergiant at the Wankhede Stadium yesterday. This is Rohit's second fine of the season.
The incident occurred during the final over of Mumbai Indians’ innings against Rising Pune Supergiant, with the hosts still needing 17 runs in their quest for the required 161. Meanwhile, Harbhajan said, "I don't really know if it was actually a wide ball or not. I feel if both the legs of the batsmen move across the stumps, then the bowler should get the [benefit of the] margin. But, if you see, only one leg of the batsman went across, so I feel it should have been a wide. But, in the end, whatever is the umpire's decision we have to move on with it."
But at the end of it all, Sharma was fined 50% of his match fees for his reaction by the match referee, as reported by The Hindu.
