There are moments in cricket, no matter the result, that brings a smile on everyone's face. Today was a classic example of the same as after Suranga Lakmal managed to take Shikhar Dhawan's catch, in the deep, despite losing his shoe everyone including the batsman couldn't help but smile.

All the nightmares from the Nagpur test would have flashed in the Sri Lankan's mind when Murali Vijay and Dhawan put up a partnership of 42 without playing a single bad shot in Delhi. It was obvious that a moment of magic was required for the Lankans to fight their way back into the game. While the visitors did get that, it wasn't in the way they would have pictured.

The incident occurred on the last delivery of the 10th over when Dilruwan Perera delivered an off-break that pitched around leg and turned a bit. Dhawan, who was batting on 23, bent low to slog sweep it to the leg side boundary. However, the ball got the top edge and went up in the air, with Lakmal, who was at deep backward square leg, getting under the ball. But the pacer, on his way to the ball, somehow lost his boot and fell over. To everyone's surprise, he was still able to take the catch while lying on the floor.

His teammates seemed surprised with his effort and even Dhawan left the field with a big smile on his face. It was also Perera’s 100th Test wicket and it will be one that he won't forget in a hurry.
