Sri Lanka will be mightily relieved to get the news of Angelo Mathews' timely recovery from cramps ahead of the third and deciding ODI against India in Vizag. The 30-year-old suffered cramps during his unbeaten knock of 111 runs in the second ODI in Mohali, where Sri Lanka lost by 141 runs.

Mathews took part in the training session on Friday and reports of his fitness have been positive ahead of the Visakhapatnam ODI. During the training session, the all-rounder was reported to have bowled some overs as well. Confirming his availability, Sri Lanka's team manager Asanka Gurusinha has confirmed that Mathews is fit enough to take part in the series decider.

"Angelo Mathews is fit. He suffered from cramps at the end of the last game. However, he has recovered. He bowled as well as batted in the nets today. All our 15 members are fit and available for selection," Gurusinha said as quoted by PTI.

While Sri Lanka players did their usual drill under the watchful eyes of Nic Pothas, the Indian cricket team decided to call off their optional training session, which was scheduled for later in the day.

Mathews has been in good touch both with his bat and ball in the on-going ODI series. During Sri Lanka's win in the Dharmasala ODI, Mathews claimed one wicket and contributed 25 runs for his team while chasing a small target of 113 runs. In the Mohali ODI, where India bounced by giving a mammoth target of393 runs, Mathews' unbeaten 111-run knock, though for a lost cause, took the score close to a somewhat respectable.
