India vs Sri Lanka | Rain could play spoilsport in Colombo T20I

The last match of India’s tour of Sri Lanka, a lone T20I, may get disrupted due to incessant rains in Colombo which resulted in the cancellation of practice sessions yesterday. The weather forecast is not promising either, with the meteorological department predicting thunder showers today.

Sri Lanka have endured a nightmarish series in the ongoing tour as India blanked them 3-0 in the Test series before whitewashing the hosts in the ODI series 5-0 – Sri Lanka’s worst ever show at home in a bilateral series. A win in the only T20I will make it 9-0 for the Virat Kohli-led team. Now, though, Sri Lanka are hoping that they can salvage some pride through the shortest format, but as it seems, even the rain gods are not with them.

Colombo was battered by incessant rains yesterday which forced the cancellation of practice sessions for both sides. Weather website, Accuweather.com, suggests that there is a chance that the teams might not even need to step on the field to bring an end to the near-two month tour.

However, should the game happen, Indian eyes will try even harder to round-off what can only be described as one of the most ruthless displays by the Indian cricket team in recent memory.

How many dismissals will Dhoni be involved in?
