The T20I between India and Sri Lanka was played yesterday where Sri Lanka not only faced defeat but also became victims of a comical blunder. Due to a misunderstanding, Virat Kohli decided to field first, even after losing the loss, and Upul Tharanga looked dazed failing to understand the situation.

The sole T20 match of the Sri Lanka-India series was played in Colombo, yesterday, and Indian skipper Kohli, after "winning" the toss, invited Sri Lanka to bat first. Even though the hosts started well, they could only manage to post a par score of 170 on a wet wicket.

While the match proceeded without any controversy, one needs to have another look at the toss to realize the blunder that was committed. As convention dictates, the official presenter Murali Kartik introduced both captains, the match referee Andy Pycroft, and toss representative Gautam. Tharanga flipped the coin into the air and Kohli called for heads. The coin traveled a bit from the players and Pycroft, who followed the coin, seemed to utter tails and surprisingly India. Kartik failed to realize the gaffe and quickly announced that it was heads and proceeds to ask the Indian skipper what he would like to do first.

Before the camera focused on Kartik and Kohli, Pycroft, on hearing heads and India, looked a bit confused which showed the misunderstanding at the very start of the game. But it was surprising to see him not take any action.

As the match progressed, the target of 171 became a subpar one as Kohli along with Manish Pandey ensured seven wicket win for the visitors. The victory also helped India inflict an astonishing 9-0 whitewash of the hosts.
