Justin Langer, along with Tim Paine, has opted to go ahead with an unchanged 13-man squad for the remaining two Test matches against India after the win in Perth took the series score to 1-1. Australia play India on Boxing Day in the third Test and will play the final match January 3 onwards.

Australia pulled off a convincing 146-run over Virat Kohli & Co. in the second Test at the new stadium in Perth on Monday to level the ongoing four-match series at 1-1. After the all-round performance in Perth, Justin Langer will be hopeful that his squad will be able to upset the Indians and preserve their unbeaten record on home soil in the coming weeks.

The former Australian batsman along with Cricket Australia selectors have opted to go with an unchanged 13-man squad for the rest of the two matches in the series, in a recent announcement on Tuesday.

"We believe it's important to keep this group together to build on the momentum we have established in Perth. With Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Peter Siddle in the squad we believe we have enough fast bowlers to choose from, so we've made the decision to stick with the 13 person squad for the remaining two Test matches against India," Trevor Hohns, national selector, said on Tuesday.

Australia have gone in with unchanged XI for their first two games. They have featured three pacers - Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood up front alongside their premier spinner, Nathan Lyon. The finger injury sustained by Aaron Finch did not result in a longer lay off for the opener. The backroom staff have also kept faith in Peter Handscomb, who has struggled to make significant contributions so far in the series while Peter Siddle and Mitchell Marsh are yet to make an appearance in this series.
