Harmanpreet Kaur to lead India A against Australia A in T20 series

Harmanpreet Kaur has been named the captain of the India A women’s team for the T20 series against Australia, scheduled to begin from October 22 in Mumbai. Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy in a squad which also includes other international female cricketers like Mithali Raj and Veda Krishnamurthy.

According to a press release by the BCCI, the All India Women’s Selection Committee has picked up a 15-member India A squad for the T20 series against Australia A. The international regulars have found a place in the squad before the T20 World Cup which is scheduled to be played in West Indies in November.

Mandhana and Raj are the top order batsmen while the bowling department looks good as well in the presence of players like Deepti Sharma, Mansi Joshi, Ekta Bisht, Punam Yadav and others. Harmanpreet  and Veda will take the responsibility of the middle-order while Tanya Bhatia is the wicket-keeper of the Indian team for this three-match series.

India A will play its matches on 22, 24 and 26 October at Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai..
