After CSK’s thrilling win against Rajasthan Royals on Thursday, MS Dhoni has said that the team will get to learn a lot from this win. The Chennai skipper has also added that the Rajasthan side batted well but were a few runs short of what could have been a good score on the wicket yesterday.
Chasing 152 runs to win, CSK scored 21 runs off the final over to register a thrilling win against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on Thursday. Dhoni and Rayudu played crucial knocks to ensure a win for the Channi-based side in the game after the visitors were reduced for 24/4.
After the end of the game, Dhoni has mentioned about the Rajasthan’s bowling effort and the importance of close games.
"It was a very good game. Need to give credit to Rajasthan. They were slightly few runs short on what would've been a good score. But they put pressure on our batsmen and they were able to build pressure right to the end," said Dhoni, reported IANS.
"Once you win games like this, you learn a lot out of it. It's important to enjoy the win but also learn from the mistakes."
The Indian wicketkeeper, who has his best score at the same venue, also talked about the ground dimensions after he was asked about getting too close for comfort at the end.
"It's about a few hits. Have to see the ground here. It's a very big ground and the outfield is fast," the CSK skipper said.
"At the end of the day, individuals do commit mistakes. But the team has to take the blame if you've lost. Doesn't matter if it was Shardul's over or someone else's over. Important to see if the batsmen batted well or whether the execution failed.”
