Hardik Pandya has been asked to join the Indian limited-overs squad which is currently playing the ODI series in New Zealand after his suspension was lifted by the CoA. On the other hand, KL Rahul will join the India A squad in Thiruvananthapuram for the one-day series against the England Lions.

According to a media release from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Baroda all-rounder will travel to New Zealand as soon as possible as India will be playing its second ODI on Saturday against the Kiwis after winning the first game. Meanwhile, the three-match series of India A against the Lions will begin from Sunday and the Karnataka batsman has been directed to join the team in Kerala’s capital city.

“Following the CoA’s decision to lift the bans on Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, the Senior selection committee has decided to include Hardik Pandya in the squad for the series against New Zealand. KL Rahul will meanwhile join the India A squad that is playing 5 one-day games against England Lions in Thiruvananthapuram,” BCCI wrote in the press statement.

“Hardik Pandya will be sent to New Zealand to join the team at the earliest and KL Rahul will join the India A squad to play the last 3 one-day games against England Lions.”

The CoA had earlier lifted the suspension on the duo with instant effect on Thursday till the appointment of an ombudsman by the Supreme Court in the next hearing.

“The Committee of Administrators (“CoA”) had, by emails dated 11.01.2019, and in exercise of Rule 41(6) of the Constitution of BCCI, suspended Mr. Hardik Pandya and Mr. K.L. Rahul in view of the allegations of misconduct against them, pending adjudication of the allegations under Rule 46 of the approved BCCI Constitution,” read the BCCI press release which was signed by the CoA.

Both the cricketers were handed a suspension after the controversial episode of “Koffee with Karan” was aired where they shared the couch. The duo had drawn a lot of flak for the misogynistic comments made on air on national television. All-rounder Vijay Shankar and Shubman Gill were sent to Australia and New Zealand as replacements for Pandya and Rahul respectively.
