No one in world cricket, at the moment, would deny the fact that Jasprit Bumrah’s impact in India’s World Cup campaign has been equal, if not more, to that of Rohit Sharma’s. And the extent of his admiration in the side was realized when Virat Kohli was seen copying his action during training.

It has been mentioned and reiterated time and again now that India haven’t seen a fast bowler like Jasprit Bumrah in the last few decades at least. The Gujarat bowler was picked up out of nowhere by John Wright while he was working with the Mumbai Indians and the rest, as they say, is history.

With his unusual bowling action that comprises of a very short run-up and unparalleled pace and placement, pundits around the world are yet to decode the skill that Bumrah brings to the table. The fast bowler has played nine matches in the league stages, bowling 492 balls, conceding 357 runs and taking 18 wickets in the process, which also included one four-wicket haul.

Kohli has never hidden his reliance on the pace bowler and the fact that he could hand the ball to his biggest weapon whenever a match looks out of hand. But, his admiration for the player was well pronounced when a video emerged of the skipper mimicking his fellow mate’s curious bowling action before he even went on to celebrate like him. If camaraderie is the only forte every team should have, regardless of the talent, then Indian team brimming with it.
