CEAT Rating Award | Virat Kohli named international cricketer of the year and best batsman of the year
Virat Kohli has won big in the prestigious CEAT Cricket Awards as he has been named the international cricketer of the year and the best batsman of the year. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah was named the international bowler of the year while Mohinder Amarnath was presented the lifetime achievement award.
In the 2018-19 season, Virat Kohli scored 1064 runs in ODIs at an insane average of 76 that included six centuries and one fifty. His exploits in Tests was no less crucial for Team India as he scored 466 runs at an average of 52 and that helped India in a big way as India secured a Test series win in Australia while winning a Test apiece in England and South Africa.Â
Keeping his incredible stats in mind, he has been named as the international cricketer of the year and the best batsman of the year by CEAT. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah took home the award for best bowler after rightfully becoming India’s best all-weather bowler in the last one year or so.
Cheteshwar Pujara, who was the man of the series in India's Test series in Australia, won the international Test cricketer of the year while Rohit Sharma, for his consistent performances in ODIs, bagged the international ODI cricketer of the year award.
While Kuldeep Yadav won the award for the outstanding performance of the year, Smriti Mandhana has been named as the international woman cricketer of the year. Former Indian cricketer Mohinder Amarnath, who played a crucial part in the 1983 World Cup-winning campaign, has been awarded the lifetime achievement award.Â
