England's Jofra Archer revealed that he is raring to go and will head into the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 with an open mind. The Three Lions begin their campaign at the global showpiece with a tricky outing against Faf du Plessis-led South Africa on Thursday at the Kennington Oval.

England look unbeatable at the moment and are packing some serious fire ahead of the start of this year’s ICC World Cup 2019 which is set to begin on May 30. The three lions thoroughly dominated proceedings in the recent nine-wicket win against Afghanistan in their final warm-up game on the weekend.

England will be banking on the shoulders of their pace attack in the form of Mark Wood, Chris Woakes, Tom Curran and Jofra Archer to pick up wickets at the global showpiece. Archer, who only made his England debut earlier this month against Pakistan, revealed that he is going to head into the WC with an open mind.

"I'm pretty open to everything. I've been put in pressure situations a few times since playing out in India, so I think I know what to look forward to if it happens. You can't say for certain what's going to come because it's cricket. It's an unknown really. I'm just going in with an open mind. Sometimes you feel the pressure. It's good. You know you're human. Some people might deal with it in their own way. I deal with it my way, some people deal with it their own way - I don't say it gives me an advantage.

"The flip side of that, some of the other guys who are a bit nervous put everything in their brain and it might just help. Sometimes I could be too relaxed and I may not remember a few things. As I said earlier, I don't think it's a huge advantage. I guess it helps in some situations as well," Archer said in a recent interview with Cricbuzz.

The England pacer further added that he would have preferred to get two more games ahead of the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 in order to complete his bowling quota.

"I think that would have been good, double what I've done. If I'd had two more games then hopefully I would have bowled my full quota. I wish I had bowled a few more overs. I've bowled about 20 overs in the last month in a match situation which isn't really ideal. The flip side of that is you get to rest and I've had a long six months going back to October. I can get by, but personally I've not played a lot of 50-over cricket in the last year so I just wanted to top up," Archer added.

Eoin Morgan-led England begin their World Cup campaign with a tricky encounter against Faf du Plessis’ South Africa on Thursday at The Oval.
