Top order batsman Marnus Labuschagne believes that David Warner will come out stronger from his Ashes failure during the Australian summer. Despite his bad run in the tour, Labuschagne reveals that Warner was very supportive of him and the other youngsters and showed great demeanour.

From being the first-ever concussion substitute in Test Cricket to cementing his place in Australia's top-order, Marnus Labuschagne had a great Ashes, to begin with. The story wasn't the same for David Warner who fell victim to Stuart Broad seven times in 10 innings and failed miserably in scoring runs, managing only one double-figure score.

However, Labuschagne feels that the seasoned left-handed opener will emerge as a better player from this experience. The 25-year-old said that getting to know Warner for the first time was a great experience and that he never shies away from helping his younger teammates.

"It was the first time I got to know Dave and I loved spending time with him. The way he conducted himself the whole tour, being under pressure and obviously he didn't score runs he would like (but) the way he helped the guys around like myself and the other younger guys, talking about game and about batting and just his whole demeanour was really great," Labuschagne told reporters in Brisbane.

"It's a real credit to him. It was a very tough series for him personally but you look back and we won't know until end of our summer but I think that's going to make him a better player. The way he conducted himself around the group was just awesome."

Labuschagne added that Warner’s dip in form will pass on as his failures will help him work harder and make him a tougher player.

"All those things, when at the time it's not going your way, actually it just makes you a tougher player, and you just kind of want it more. You don't look at those things now as negatives, they're positives, because you wouldn't be the player you are without those things."
