Former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar feels that MS Dhoni is loved across the nation, which isn't the case with greats of the game like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. MS Dhoni is the only skipper to have won his country all the major ICC trophies across all formats of the game.

Talking just about major laurels won by MS Dhoni, his cabinet boasts of a T20 World Cup win, a 50-overs WC title, a champions trophy win and the ICC Test mace after he led India to No.1 in the rankings. In IPL, he has led CSK to as many as three-title wins besides helping the franchise to emerge victorious in Champions League T20. Just yesterday, the former Indian skipper scripted yet another history as he became the first IPL captain to win 100 games.

Talking about MS Dhoni, legendary Indian batsman, Sunil Gavaskar has opined that MSD is more loved than Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli in India as he comes from Ranchi, which doesn't boast any cricket culture.

"Since MSD comes from Ranchi, which doesn't have a cricket culture as such, the whole India loves him. Tendulkar has Mumbai and Kolkata, Kohli has Delhi and Bengaluru but when you talk of Dhoni it's the whole India," Gavaskar said as reported by TOI.

MS Dhoni had again put up a masterclass yesterday when he led CSK to a win over the favourites Mumbai Indians, sending Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran ahead of himself to counter remaining over of Krunal Pandya, a move which paid dividends as both Jadeja and Curran played useful cameos to help the side win chasing 163 runs.
