India can make the case for being in the top echelon as far as fielding in world cricket is concerned. As such when Yashasvi Jaiswal, standing at gully, dropped Marnus Labuschagne, Rohit Sharma was left incensed at first slip and it took Rishabh Pant to console the Indian opener.

On a Day 4 wicket at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia struggled for runs as the Indian pace unit fired on all cylinders. Even though the hosts managed to put up 80/2 in 32 overs, they looked far from comfortable but the scorecard looked promising. However, the game turned on its head over the next 24 deliveries.

After Siraj got rid of Steve Smith, Bumrah sent the dangerous Travis Head and Mitch Marsh packing in the next over. An over later, Bumrah was at it again as he found the gap between bat and pad to send Alex Carey back to the hut as well. With India on the ascendancy and Australia running out of ideas, India were handed the initiative on a platter but they squandered it.

On the second delivery of the 40th over, Akash Deep bowled a back of length delivery to Labuschagne, who tried to guide it behind square. However, the contact was poor and the ball ended up heading straight into the hands of Jaiswal. As soon as the youngster dropped it, Rohit vented out his anger while Virat Kohli was left shell shocked. Rishabh Pant, though, went over to Jaiswal to console the youngster.

The Twitterati were not too happy with Jaiswal’s attempt and went down the Rohit road to vent on social media.
