New Zealand cruised to a commanding nine-wicket victory over Uganda at Trinidad. Led by the exceptional bowling display of Trent Boult and Tim Southee, the Kiwi side restricted Uganda to a mere 40 runs whereas they chased down the target effortlessly in just 5.2 overs losing just one wicket.

‌Hoping to salvage a win in an otherwise disappointing tournament for New Zealand, skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to bowl first against Uganda. The decision proved fruitful immediately as Trent Boult struck with back-to-back wickets in the very first over. Tim Southee joined in, dismissing Alpesh Ramjani in the fourth over, leaving Uganda struggling at 9/3 by the end of the powerplay. Uganda continued to lose wickets at regular intervals as they failed to muster any significant resistance against the Kiwi bowling attack. Eventually, they were bowled out for a paltry 40 runs in 18.4 overs.

In pursuit of the modest target, New Zealand got off to a brisk start with Finn Allen and Devon Conway comfortably guiding the score to 23/0 in just four overs. Although Allen departed early in the fifth over, the Kiwi side remained firmly on course for victory. Conway, supported by Rachin Ravindra, calmly steered their team to the target, securing a comprehensive nine-wicket win in just 5.2 overs.
