There’s a famous saying in cricket that form is temporary but class is permanent. This could’ve been the case with a struggling Travis Head who is yet to score a fifty in the 2024 T20 World Cup but Naveen ul-Haq's jaffa with the new ball left him befuddled in St. Vincent, Kingstown on Sunday.

The decision to field first after winning the toss did not fare well for Australian captain Mitchell Marsh as a 118-run opening stand between Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran steered them to 148 runs in 20 overs. In reply, the Australian side jolted continuous setbacks inside the powerplay with Naveen producing a seed to send Head packing in the first over.

On the third ball of the first over, Naveen came around the wicket and bowled a fuller delivery, pitched at the middle and leg. Head was cramped to loft it from inside the line and ended up getting beaten on the outside edge due to the outswing. The white rock clattered onto the stumps leaving the southpaw bemused, courtesy of the purchase off the strip. Right after, Naveen was seen pumped up and pointed a finger towards his captain, leaving the Twitterverse into a frenzy.

What a ball!
