Gujarat Titans beat Chennai Super Kings by 35 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The home team showed some great batting with Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan scoring splendid centuries as Moeen Ali and Daryl Mitchell’s well-set innings went in vain with CSK losing the game.

The home team's fortune turned around despite losing the toss as openers Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan laid a strong groundwork, scoring 58/0 within the powerplay. With Wriddhiman Saha sidelined by a niggle, the Tamil Nadu batsman showcased his skills with the bat as he was given a higher batting position in this match.  Moreover, Sudharshan's sublime fifty off 32 balls propelled Gujarat to 107/0 within 10 overs. Meanwhile, Chennai's bowlers were in dire need of a breakthrough as Gill followed up with a fifty in just 25 balls. Together, they accelerated the score to 143/0 by the 12th over with both Gill and Sudharsan slamming a century in 50 balls each. Chennai's bowlers appeared helpless as Gujarat surged to 209/0 by the 17th over. However, the visitors found respite when Tushar Deshpande dismissed both batsmen in the 18th over. With David Miller and Shahrukh Khan at the crease, the Titans amassed a formidable total of 231/3 by the end of their innings. In reply, CSK's chase initiated with Rachin Ravindra, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ruturaj Gaikwad departing inside the powerplay. Yet, Daryl Mitchell and Moeen Ali provided stability by crafting a 33-run partnership that nudged the score to 43/3 by the end of the powerplay. Despite the initial setback, the duo showcased resilience propelling the score to 86/3 in 10 overs with Mitchell reaching a swift fifty off 27 balls. However, momentum shifted when Mohit Sharma dismissed Mitchell in the 13th over after an impressive 63 off 34 deliveries. Meanwhile, the English all-rounder continued his fine form notching a fifty off 31 balls aided by Shivam Dube. Yet, Ali's departure in the 15th over, with the score at 135/5, added pressure to the visitors. With 89 runs required from the final five overs, all eyes turned to Dube and Ravindra Jadeja. However, Mohit's crucial wicket of Dube in the 17th over, who scored 21 off 13 balls, further strained Chennai's hopes. As Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped in, the required run rate soared to 21 off three overs. Unfortunately, wickets fell rapidly in the 18th over, courtesy of Rashid Khan shifting the game in favor of Gujarat Titans. Rashid's exemplary death over bowling sealed the deal, conceding only 16 runs as Chennai succumbed to a 35-run loss. Gujarat Titans celebrated a remarkable victory, buoying their aspirations to climb the points table.
