An athlete is often judged based on their performance under pressure. Chasing a total of 232 runs and suffering early blows in a chase against Gujarat Titans in Chennai, Ruturaj Gaikwad failed to continue with his good batting form, courtesy of an acrobatic catch from Rashid Khan in the deep.

Winning his second coin-flip in twelve matches and choosing to field first, the Gujarat-based side posted a total of 231 runs in 20 overs, courtesy of centuries from Sudharsan and Gill. In response, CSK had a rocky start, losing openers Ajinkya Rahane and Rachin Ravindra on back-to-back balls before Rashid’s incredible effort at the deep sent Gaikwad back to the pavilion.

After a single on the fourth ball of the third over, Umesh Yadav bowled a short ball against Gaikwad that the batter pulled towards the left of deep square leg region. Rashid at the deep served to his left and almost grasped the ball with his toe near the cushions before throwing the ball in the air to balance. Rashid, eventually, managed to land his foot marginally short of the ropes to catch the free-flowing ball, leaving Gaikwad with a bronze duck.

The incredible athleticism from the Afghan all-rounder left the Twitterverse praising.
