Bartlett celebrates after dismissing Quinton de Kock

A dream debut is every player's wish, but the pressure can sometimes be overwhelming. Xavier Bartlett experienced this at Mullanpur when he, under the spotlight, he failed to throw the ball properly from the boundary line, letting it slip from his hand and cross for an embarrassing four.

Punjab Kings had a forgettable night with the bat as their side was bundled out for just 111 runs. In response, Kolkata Knight Riders had a tough time initially with the openers Sunil Narine and Quinton de Kock departing within the powerplay. But Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi steadied the Kolkata batting and took the scorecard to 60/2 in seven overs. However, Rahane’s clinical innings was put to an end when Chahal scalped him in the eighth over. Additionally, Xavier Bartlett was subjected to a comical moment when his misfield led to big error.

On the fifth ball of the eighth over, Chahal dished a length delivery on the pads as Venkatsh Iyer swept it down the line towards deep backward square leg. Additionally, Bartlett was stationed there as he comfortably picked the white cork and aimed to throw. But due to the dew, the ball slipped from his palm and trickled away to the ropes backwards. With the misfield, Chahal looked furious as Bartlett let the ball go to the boundary ropes. The Twitterverse couldn't stop laughing and took to social media to talk about it.
