Liverpool and Tottenham have shared the spoils in a thrilling 2-2 draw at Anfield in the Premier League encounter. In another game of the league, Crystal Palace have managed to secure a draw against Newcastle United at their home ground Selhurst Park in a game of missed opportunities.

Liverpool 2 - 2 Tottenham Hotspur

Mohamed Salah gave an early lead to the home side while also reaching 20 Premier League goals in the third minute of the game. Liverpool enjoyed the lead for the major part of the game, but Spurs substitute Victor Wanyama's effort from 25 yards in the 80th minute equalled the score. The game was moving towards a 1-1 draw but both teams fought hard to add some thrill to it. At the start of five minutes of stoppage time, Salah brought Liverpool back into the game with his second goal of the day. While it seemed like it was going to be the winning goal for the hosts, Kane, who got the second opportunity of penalty, didn’t miss the chance to level the score again.

After the draw, both teams managed to remain in the top five as Liverpool spotted at third and Tottenham on the fifth position with 51 and 49 points respectively. Tottenham, who had 66% possession in the game, will now host Newport County in the FA Cup fourth-round replay on February 7 and on Saturday they will play against Arsenal at Wembley in the Premier League while Liverpool will visit Southampton next Sunday.

Crystal Palace 1 - 1 Newcastle United

Crystal Palace started the game in a dominating fashion and kept 54% possession in the game, but the visitors opened the scoring in the 22nd minute thanks to Mohamed Diame. But Roy Hodgson’s men scored the equalizer with the help of Luka Milivojevic who successfully converted the penalty after Ciaran Clark was fined for pulling Christian Benteke’s shirt. Until the end of the game, both teams failed to get a lead which resulted in Palace reaching the 14the position on the points table while Newcastle maintained their 16th spot. In the next encounter, Crystal Palace will visit Goodison Park to play against Everton on Saturday while Newcastle will face Manchester United at St James’ Park.
