Less than two weeks after he was sacked by Arsenal, Unai Emery has been approached by Everton to be their next manager. The Toffees parted ways with Marco Silva last week and have shortlisted the former Arsenal boss, Vitor Pereira, Diego Simeone, and David Moyes as potential managerial options.

The Spaniard does see a move to England, Spain, and Italy as his top options for his next job but Sky Sports has reported that Everton have approached Unai Emery. The Toffees, like Arsenal, have also sacked their manager and placed Duncan Ferguson as the interim boss but are actively searching for Marco Silva’s replacement in the market.

Sky Sports has further added that they have shortlisted Diego Simeone, Marcelino, Vitor Pereira, and Carlo Ancelotti but Emery has slowly climbed to the top of that list. The Spaniard’s performances with Sevilla and Valencia have the Everton hierarchy convinced that he’ll be a good fit for their side despite the way his tenure with Arsenal ended.

Emery ended his eighteen month tenure with the North London giants with a seven-game winless streak, which included losses to Leicester City, Sheffield United, and Eintracht Frankfurt. But that has not caused any concerns to either Chairman Bill Kenwright or owner/majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri with both men looking for a big name to replace Marco Silva and lead Everton forward.
