Jadon Sancho won't be here in five years, says Micheal Zorc
Borussia Dortmund’s Sporting Director Micheal Zorc has concluded that he can’t see Jadon Sancho staying at the club for the next five years as the starlet’s future becomes uncertain with each day. The 19-year-old has been linked with a number of elite sides with Manchester United a prime candiate.
Jadon Sancho has been right on the money ever since his move to Borussia Dortmund scoring 18 times and providing 29 assists in 64 first-team appearances. His exploits at the club level has also led him to a seamless integration in England’s national squad under Gareth Southgate. Sancho’s value continues to rise with each performance. He is one of the hottest properties in Europe right now and is on the wish list of many European Powerhouses.
Manchester United have been keeping tabs on the youngster and will probably follow him throughout the season. That was compounded by a bid this summer, with reports indicating that the Red Devils were the mystery bidder. However, Sporting Director Micheal Zorc revealed that he rejected the offer for Sancho and he went on to talk about the starlet player’s future again in an interview with German news outlet the Kicker. Zorc even went on to add that he doesn't believe the young starlet will be here in five years time, with Sancho heavily linked with a move away.
“No decision has been made. But you don't have to be a prophet to know he won't play here for another five years. He has taken this positive development (at Dortmund). I doubt that would have been possible with top English clubs. We trust the players very early, and we are not afraid to let them play” Zarc told Kicker.
"He acknowledges that. He's an instinctive footballer, a street footballer, he's always a footballer, but he's always setting new limits. He does not sit back satisfied. He wants to play football successfully and beautifully. That alone is his motivation,” concluded the Sporting director.
Sancho and Dortmund will next be seen in a Champions League tie against Slavia Prague as Dortmund aim to win their first Champions League game this season after a disappointing draw against Barcelona.
