Reports | Maurizio Sarri keen on bringing Willian to Juventus
Chelsea star Willian is one of Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri’s top targets, with Barcelona also keen on a move for the forward. The Brazilian’s contract is set to expire next summer and he will be eligible to negotiate a pre-contract deal in January with former Chelsea boss Sarri keen on a move.
Willian’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of this season which has alerted clubs that he’s available on a bossman. However, the Sun has reported that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that the player is in "conversation" with the club over a new contract. The former Anzhi forward signed for Chelsea in 2013 and has been a dynamic figure since then for the Blues.
However, over the last two seasons, Willian has become the bane of Stamford Bridge and has often been booed off the field. His winning goal against LOSC Lille might work in his favour and help him win the backing of the supporters again but Callum Hudson-Odoi's return causes a few problems. The teenage starlet's return from injury will give manager Frank Lampard a selection headache as both Willian and he plays in the same position.
That has seen Italian news outlet Calciomercato report that Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri wants to bring the Chelsea star to Turin. The former Chelsea boss and Willian worked together for a year at Chelsea, winning the Europa League title before Sarri left for Juventus. Barcelona have tried to bring Willian to the Camp Nou in the past and the Sun reports that they will try again.
The La Liga giants launched two offers of £40 and £60 million last summer but were rejected by the Blues before making another failed offer this summer. Reports indicate that the Catalan giants are ready to offer the Brazilian a much better financial package should he sign for them on a bossman.
