Serie A giants Inter Milan are looking eager to sign out of favour Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic. Newly appointed Inter boss, Antonio Conte, has already brought Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku to Milan during the summer transfer window and has now set his sights on Matic.

Antonio Conte and Nemanja Matic are no strangers to each other, with the Italian managing the Serbian during their 2016-17 season title-winning season and this has seen reports indicate that Matic could move to the San Siro. Calciomercato reports that Matic is unhappy at his situation at Manchester United, which has seen him look for an exit and Inter Milan are interested.  So far this season, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has put faith in his younger players and has benched the 31-year-old Serbian.

In his place, Solskjaer has opted to use Scott McTominay in Matic’s preferred position completing a midfield trio of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard. It has caused a few problems between Matic and the Norwegian boss, although the former Chelsea star has denied any rumours of a rift. The Serbian International’s contract with the Red Devils expires on June 2020, which would allow him to leave on a free transfer on 1st July.

The former Benfica star has received flak from United supporters recently, after he liked comments that asked him to boycott manager Solskjaer, on a social media platform. Matic will probably leave the club at the upcoming January transfer window or during the summer, but in spite of interest from the Nerazzurri, it remains to be seen where the defensive midfielder goes next.
