Jordan Henderson has revealed that Jurgen Klopp demands the very best every day from every single player at the club. The Reds have followed up their Champions League win in the 2019 final with a splendid start to the Premier League season, with 5 wins out of their opening five league games.

As the only team in English football with a winning start to their name, Liverpool are cruising in the Premier League with their second big six challenge coming up next. The Reds face Frank Lampard’s Chelsea in what should be a very entertaining clash, with games against Leicester City, Manchester United and Tottenham coming down the line.

However, in an interview with Liverpoolfc.com, captain Jordan Henderson has revealed that their performances this season has been down to what Jurgen Klopp has asked the players to do. The English international goes on to add that Klopp demands 110% from his players every day in every training session, which is why they have been able to be a cut above the rest.

"Keeping the focus has been easy because of the people we have around us and the manager. The manager is so good at making sure nothing is left untouched in training. If there's anything he doesn't like, he picks up on it straightaway. The lads are always wanting to improve, are training hard to be successful and to get to the next level, and we always know there's room for improvement. Having the manager on us constantly makes it easy for us to stay concentrated,” Henderson told Liverpoolfc.com.

The Reds head to Stamford Bridge for their next challenge and despite sitting two points clear off Manchester City with a game in hand, Henderson is keen to continue with a clear mind. While he does admit that the club would like to win the league, the Liverpool captain also admits that his teammates need to focus on the upcoming games, rather than the future.

“Of course we want to win the league and win as many trophies as we can. With the team and the manager that we've got, there's no reason why we can't do that. But there's no point in focusing on that. The focus remains the next game. It's been the case for the last few years and it's stood us in good stead so far,” concluded Henderson.
