With Angel Di Maria struggling for form, Thomas Tuchel has admitted that the Argentine may have lost a step but has challenged the attacker to rediscover his best form again. The 32-year-old has made 15 appearances this season in all competitions but a large portion of them have been off the bench.

With age catching up to many of the PSG players, it saw them let go of players like Edinson Cavani, Thiago Silva and a few others but Angel Di Maria kept his place. The Argentine has played a key role for the club over the years and that has seen his loyalty rewarded by the club. However, things have changed this season with Di Maria struggling to find his best run of form.

That has seen the 32-year-old dropped from the starting eleven with a large portion of his fifteen appearances this season coming off the bench. Yet despite Di Maria’s struggles, Thomas Tuchel has admitted that he has full faith that the Argentine will find his way back to his best. The PSG boss has further added that it has seen him make changes to the formation and shape with it easier for Rafinha to thrive.

"I feel like Angel has lost some things that were easy for him before, but that's how it is. We changed the structure in the last minutes against Leipzig, in Manchester, against Basaksehir here, and in Montpellier. We were a little stronger in this structure, in 5-3-2. It's a little easier for Rafinha in this position, in the midfield, he is more decisive,” Tuchel said, reported Goal.

“But it is a decision of the moment. I'm never going to stop believing in Angel. It is in my head, it is in my heart, even if at the moment it is less easy. He tried again today, but lacks that click. It is more difficult but it does not matter."
