RB Leipzig can achieve the best finish in clubâs history, proclaims Julian Naglesmann
RB Leipzig boss Julian Naglesmann has confessed that he believes his side can achieve their best ever finish in the Bundesliga but only if they keep their good form going. The Leipzig side have been in good form since play resumed being unbeaten so far although they were held to two draws.
Few sides were better placed to win the Bundesliga title before the winter break than RB Leipzig with them even crowned as Herbmeister. But their form since then has seen the club drop from first to fourth with just three wins in their last eleven games. However, Leipzig have lost only one out of those eleven but drew the other seven which saw them fall behind Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in the race for the title.
But the resumption of play after more than a two month break has seen Dieroten Bullen comeback with more or less the same run of form but they are still unbeaten in their last three games played. Yet two draws including a 2-2 to Hertha Berlin have underlined the problems with a restart but Leipzig boss Julian Naglesmann still believes his side can achieve their best ever finish. The former Hoffenheim coach also added that the short turnaround between matches has seen his side struggle like many others but things will change.
"We can achieve the best season in club history. To do this, we need to continue to score three points. We still have a chance to keep our good record intact. We were a bit tired and didn't have a top day... It's always a bit tiring to run after a backlog especially if you don't have fans behind you and the game against Mainz is still in your bones. We are happy to have enough time to prepare for the upcoming game in Cologne,â Naglesmann said reported ESPN.
