After winning the game against Gujarat Fortunegiants, Puneri Paltan coach Anup Kumar has said that the team is in a great rhythm after winning two games and it's important for the young side to maintain that rhythm. He also added that the reason for positive results is their current combinations.

This was Puneri Paltan's second win of the season and they fought very hard for it as well. Pune won 31-33 against Gujarat Fortunegiants on Monday to register their second successive win this year. In the whole match, no team was ever in clear lead and both the teams were neck to neck in the entire match. Puneri Paltan defence and raiders performed in sync with each other as they scored 13 and 15 points respectively. In raiding, Pawan Kadian and Amit Kumar scored six points each and complemented each other well.

“It’s been great so far. We’ve won against two outstanding teams. My players have shown what they are capable of and it is important for us to continue in the same rhythm. Winning and losing is a part of the game but giving it your all is extremely necessary, I believe,” Puneri Paltan coach Anup Kumar said in the post-match press conference.

Puneri Paltan were better than Gujarat Fortunegiants in their defence as they scored 13 tackle points as compared to Gujarat’s eight. Both the teams even managed to inflict an all-out on the other but it was Pune who recovered faster than Gujarat. In defence, Girish Ernak scored a High Five which is a very positive sign for Puneri Paltan and the defence saw an unexpected hero in Manjeet who scored four tackle points in the game.

“The combination we believe is the winning one in the camp may not be the one that actually does well during the season. So, we have to be flexible and make those adjustments to win. We’ve been brilliant over the past two games and everything has worked, so I do feel that this combination is a good one,” the Pune coach concluded.
