After losing their opening match, Patna Pirates skipper Pradeep Narwal talked about how super tackles were the turning point for them. Coach Ram Meher Singh praised Iranian all-rounder Mohammed Esmaeil Maghsoudlou as his inclusion in the team this year impacted the side in the first game.

The second game of the Pro Kabaddi League was a close contest between the three-time Champion Patna Pirates and defending Champions Bengaluru Bulls. Bulls were trailing behind at one point but managed to get ahead with the help of Super Tackles. They had as many as five tackles to their name. Ashish Sangwan inflicted two Super Tackles while Amit, Sumit and Mahender inflicted one each .

Patna witnessed an all-round performance from the Iranian debutant Mohammed Esmaeil Maghsoudlou as he scored six raid points and three tackle points out of which one came off a super tackle.

“I think the second raider (Mohammad Esmaeil Maghsoudlou Mahali) played quite well and supported me well. Those Super Tackles in the second half cost us the game,” Pradeep Narwal said in the post-match press conference.

“He was immense in offence as well as defence. He contributed on either side of the mat and that is a good sign for us,” Patna coach Ram Meher Singh said while talking about the Iranian all-rounder.

Apart from Esmaeil and Vikas Jaglan, who scored three tackle points, there wasn’t much of defense depth in the Patna side.

Even though the Bulls emerged victorious, it wasn’t too easy for them, they saw another exceptional performance by Pawan as well as the defenders that helped them outplay the Pirates.

“We gave up 10 tackle points despite reducing them down to three so it’s difficult to come back from that. We had a good game, but those points were crucial,” the Patna Pirates coach stated.
