Dabang Delhi KC defender Vishal Mane, who has played in the most number of PKL Finals, has said that they are well prepared to face the toughest match and have eyes on the trophy. However, in meetings with Bengal Warriors this season, Delhi have remained winless on both occasions.

Dabang Delhi have won most of their matches as a result of team performance in which both defence and offence contributed equally. Whereas at one side, Naveen Kumar did really well this season with 283 raid points and 21 super 10s, there have been surprises in defence with a raider like Anil Kumar who has done well in the left cover position. Anil still hasn’t scored a high five in five seasons but he has certainly improved a lot in this season in terms of his total tackle points as well as average tackle points per match too. He along with Vishal Mane have been a good combination in the covers for Delhi.

“We have a balanced team with Joginder and Ravinder in defense along with Naveen’s express raiding skills supported by Chandran Ranjith as well.  We are fully prepared to face the toughest match of the season and our eyes are on the trophy,” Mane said ahead of the grand finale.

Bengal Warriors shut down speculators who said that without Maninder Singh, they will be a weak side by performing well and winning the semi-final game against U Mumba despite a few hiccups. Three main raiders played in the last match for Bengal - Sukesh Hegde, K.Prapanjan, and Mohammed Nabibakhsh and all of them contributed as well. Hegde, who led Gujarat Fortunegiants into the finals in the fifth season, scored eight points courtesy of a super raid. In defence, both their corners, Baldev Singh and Rinku Narwal, are in fine form and the same performance will be expected of them against Delhi on Saturday.

“For any team reaching the Finals of vivo Pro Kabaddi itself is a big deal! Having said that, we are not taking the pressure of the finals and that’s what we believe will bring the best game for us on the mat. The team has been practicing and focusing on their fitness and we are confident of lifting the trophy this time.” Skipper Maninder Singh signed off.
