Jaipur’s raider Nilesh Salunke has expressed his disappointment after the loss against Bengal Warriors in spite of his great raiding show last evening. Their skipper Deepak Niwas Hooda heaped praise on his raiding unit and said that the raiders were the main reason for their comeback.

The last game against Bengal Warriors saw a new star emerge for Jaipur Pink Panthers as Nilesh Salunke scored 15 raid points from 17 raids and single-handedly tried to win the game for the home side at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium. However, he didn’t get much support from the defence and the team lost the game by just one point at the end.

Salunke, although was happy that he could contribute for the team, said that he was not pleased with the result as that went against his team.

“I'm happy that I contributed but I'm not pleased with the result. The coach told me to express myself and not to worry about the score too much,” Salunke said at the post-match press conference.

Skipper Deepak Niwas Hooda also had nine raid points and one tackle point in the game and overall Jaipur’s raiding unit had a good outing last evening. Jaipur raiders scored as many as 27 points which is one more in comparison to that of the Warriors and Deepak also praised his raiders in the presser.

“The raiding unit was the stellar unit. They were the reason for our comeback. The defence made some uncharacteristic errors today and that cost us the match,” the all-rounder mentioned.

Speaking about the close match and the loss, Jaipur coach Srinivas Reddy said, “We lost the game so I can’t really be happy. It was a great game of kabaddi, but we lost.”

“The raiding unit was spectacular. Last night, they could have played better but today they were outstanding. The defence could have played much better today.”
