Virat Kohli becomes No. 1 batsman in ICC T20 rankings

Indian Test captain Virat Kohli became the No.1 batsman in the latest ICC World T20 rankings replacing Australian T20 captain Aaron Finch after his Man of the Series performance in the recently concluded series against Australia.

Virat Kohli, who remained unbeaten in the series, scored 90*, 59* and 50* in the three matches to guide India to a 3-0 whitewash against the Aussies. The Indian star gained 47 ranking points for his performances to move ahead of Australia's Aaron Finch with 892 ranking points. To add to his numero uno status in T20, Virat Kohli also takes up the second position in the ODI rankings and 14th ranking in the ICC Tests rankings.

Among other Indians, Suresh Raina moved up three places to 13th, while Rohit Sharma also gained four places to take up the 16th position in the T20I rankings.

Among the bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin sits in the second position in the T20I rankings, while Ravindra Jadeja has made it to his personal highest rank of 18th position.

With the series win, India also officially took over the Number one rank in T20 replacing West Indies with 120 points. West Indies, Sri Lanka and England occupy the second, third and fourth position respectively while Australia went down to 8th and sits just in front of Afghanistan and Scotland in the rankings.
